A sequence in Haiku

Glass Platen Image

Holding the freeze-frame:
a record of the moment,
locked in existence.

Posed for the image:
seated and told to, ‘Hold hands.
No smiling allowed.’

Wearing the fashion:
pinch-gathered skirt, cinched bodice,
to hold her tight in.

She is determined:
a mercury flash blinding
her gaze-painted eyes.

Resolved and resigned:
with an air of soft sadness,
he sits out the time.

Albert chain status?
five tiny domed buttons,
ribbed fustian trousers
(give him away)

Holding that freeze-frame:
a record of the moment,
locked in existence.
